Buying a van is one thing, but keeping it protected once it’s out in the world is another.
All that time spent making sure it’s the right fit for your business needs: the right setup, the right support… when something’s THAT important, security needs to be part of the conversation too.
That was our focus at Fresh News Live, held at the Henry Ford Academy in Daventry on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 July.
The event brought together the Aftersales Repairer Network to look at new developments, share updates and get ready for the months ahead. As part of the experience, Ford’s Suppliers Village gave franchise partners the chance to meet a select group of trusted suppliers offering practical value to Ford customers.
Which is where we come in.
Helping franchise partners talk about van security
For us, Fresh News Live was a chance to talk directly to Ford franchise representatives to help them get a complete understanding of the role van security plays after a customer’s come to a decision is happy with their choice.
They might know exactly what size, spec and payload works for them, but they might not always know which security risks they should be thinking about from day one or what options are available before they start heading out on the daily.
By understanding the factory-fit security packs available, franchise partners can make a real difference. They’re perfectly placed to recommend practical protection to customers at the right moment, which is before they’ve become a target for criminals!
Factory-fit protection, built for proper use
Of course, there’s not a simple, one-size-fits-all solution businesses use vehicles differently, and advice has to shift accordingly.
Some vans spend most nights on driveways, others are parked on sites, in depots, on streets or outside out-of-hours late-night calls. Some hold expensive tools, others will be hauling stock from town to town, while others might be part of a wider fleet, where downtime can have a serious impact across the rest of the business.
Our factory-fit security packs are designed to give customers a practical way to strengthen vehicle protection right from the start. They help put security at the heart of the buying and aftersales process in a way that feels straightforward, relevant and easier for customers to act on.
For franchise partners, that means having a clear, credible security option to discuss when customers are already making important decisions about their vehicle.
Why events like this matter
Fresh News Live wasn’t open to the public, and it wasn’t about having a big platform to make a big announcement. It was something more important than our own profile, and that’s getting the most useful information we could, in front of the people who speak to customers every day.
The more confident franchise partners feel talking about security, the more likely customers are to hear about the options available before they need them.
And that’s ALWAYS the best time to have that conversation.
Keeping customers moving
We’ve spent years looking at and thinking about the different ways vans are used, targeted and ultimately protected. Events like Fresh News Live give us the chance to share that experience with the people helping customers make decisions face-to-face every day.
It was great to spend time talking through our latest developments, but we know good van security is about more than products (although they are important, of course!). It’s about the timing, the shared knowledge and making sure people are aware of all the options open to them and, crucially, what works best for them.
In short, we believe the best security conversations are the ones that help people understand their risk, choose the right protection and feel more confident about the vehicles they rely on every day.
Fresh News Live gave us the chance to keep that conversation moving, and we were proud to be part of it.
